What does the Mode Button on the OKIOCAM S2 Pro/X1/W1 Do?

OKIOLABS has been developing document cameras that are not only capable of capturing documents but also allow users to use them as a webcam by utilizing the multi-jointed arm, rotatable camera head, and the Flip button which rotates the image by 180 degrees.

The Mode Button and Focus Type

On the following new models of OKIOCAM, there is no Flip button, but a Mode button that does more than just flipping the image.

The "Mode" refers to Doc Cam Mode and Webcam Mode. While it flips the image by 180 degrees, it also switches the focus type between AFS and AFC.  

• Doc Cam Mode: AFS (Auto-focus Single). Whenever you press the auto-adjust or the focus button, the camera re-adjusts and locks the focus until the auto-focus is triggered again due to whatever reason.
• Webcam Mode: AFC (Auto-focus Continuous). The camera continuously auto-adjusts the focus without needing to press any button.

Doc Cam Mode is default, and by pressing the Mode button, it switches to Webcam Mode.

How do I Identify Which Mode is Being Used?

On the OKIOCAM X1, users can check the position of the button to know which mode is being used.

On the OKIOCAM W1, an icon will be shown on the computer screen to remind users which mode is being switched to.

Unlike the OKIOCAM X1 or W1, there is no obvious icon or physical hint indicating the current mode. If a user does not press the auto-focus button, but the focus is triggering itself, then it is under Webcam Mode. Otherwise, it is under Doc Cam Mode.
