If you will only use OKIOCAM with third-party applications (Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, for example), you DO NOT need to install any additional drivers. OKIOCAM is plug and play so it will work perfectly for you straight out of the box. It is important to note that only the gray button is functional within third-party applications, regardless of whether additional drivers (OKIOCAM Button Driver, for example) are installed or not.
If you are a Windows or Mac user and you want to use your OKIOCAM with our OKIOLABS extensions (Snapshot and Recorder, Stop Motion, Time-Lapse), and you want full button functionalities, you will need to install OKIOCAM Button Driver. If OKIOCAM Button Driver is not installed and running at the time of start-up, the buttons on the camera will not work.
OKIOCAM Button Driver is not available for Chromebook. Chromebook users have the option to install the applications as dedicated apps or as Chrome extensions. All the buttons are functional in the dedicated application, but only the gray button is functional in the Chrome extension. For the instruction on how to install OKIOCAM Snapshot and Recorder on your Chromebooks, please refer to this article.
