When Snapshot and Recorder is loading your previous files, it takes up some RAM space. If you're running multiple applications on your Chromebook, the computer might not have enough RAM to read the previously recorded files, which eventually causes the crash.
You can try the below steps to fix this issue:
Step 1. Update your ChromeOS to the latest version
Step 2. Restart your Chromebook, and launch Snapshot and Recorder
Step 3. Click the bottom right preview window, and you can see the previous videos you've recorded
Step 4. Delete all the videos that you have uploaded to Google Drive, and it will help clear some RAM space
You will be able to run the Snapshot and Recorder after the previous steps.
We advise you to clear the videos in the preview gallery once uploaded to Google Drive to avoid this from happening in the future.

I am very frustrated with your Okiocam App on Chromebook. I have had several teachers purchase your Okiocam with the hopes that teachers could record their lessons. It keeps crashing when I try to save a video for over 5 min. It also deletes the extension. I am so disappointed. If you can't solve this. We will need help in returning your product. HELP!!!!!
